Carlitta J. Cabell – Vice President

Ms. Cabell has worked as an educator for a number of years as a teacher, Director of Education and founder and Chief Academic Officer of a Michigan charter school.

Michael Cheatham – Secretary

Mr. Cheatham is a Community Reinvestment Manager for Comerica Bank.

Sheldon Johnson – Treasurer
(Member since 1998)
Mr. Johnson is presently employed as a Technical Consultant for Forming Technologies Incorporated. Previously, he worked as a manufacturing engineer at DaimlerChrysler, and is a retired Colonel in the U.S Army.

Ms. Armstrong is a Chandler Park Academy parent.

Kendal Bowman

Mr. Bowman is the Principal owner of Arcos Studio, LLC…an Architectural Design and Development firm, and works as an associate for TMP Architecture, Inc.

Kelli Van Buren

Ms. Van Buren is a Wayne County Community College Instructor. She is also a board member for Mosaic Youth Theater and Matrix Human Services.

Dr. Anthony J. Shipley – Founder and Board Member Emeritus
(Member since 1997 – 2018)
Dr. Shipley, founder of Chandler Park Academy, is the Retired Senior Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Detroit.

Marie Inniss – Board Member Emeritus
(Member since 1998 – 2015)
Ms. Inniss served as Assistant Dean at Wayne State University Law School and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

Teresa Bates – Board Member Emeritus
(Member since 2013 – 2017)
Ms. Bates is a Child Care Provider and a Chandler Park Academy parent.

Charles E. Arnold – First Board President / Board Member Emeritus
(Member since 1997 – 2021)
Mr. Arnold was employed by the Bank of the Commonwealth for 30 years.   He later joined National City Bank, where he retired as Group Vice President.
